The first cohort of We the People teachers has received training and will be soon conducting mock congressional hearings with students. As a result, it is time to recruit another set of teachers for year 2, which starts with professional development at Montpelier the week of June 19 – 24, 2016.
Attached below please find an Introduction Handout as well as a Teacher Agreement which contain more information about the program.
Qualifying teachers should be able to respond affirmatively to the following questions:
- Are you new to the We the People Program, in that you have not previously received We the People training and been teaching the material?
- Is the level of free and reduced lunch at your school greater than 30%?
- Would you be available to attend all of the listed events?
- Is your principal supportive of your involvement?
If teachers answer yes to all of these questions, they are eligible for the wonderful opportunity.
