On behalf of the Project on Racism Essay Contest
Dear West Virginia Educator,
This year, the YWCA Wheeling received over 500 essays in the Project on Racism Essay Contest. The high quality of the essays attests to the excellent education you are providing to our students.
Choosing the winners was a difficult process due to the creativity and insight expressed in many of the entries. Nonetheless, our judges have completed the difficult process and I am pleased now to announce the winners of the state-wide Project on Racism Essay Contest. Please find a list of winners attached to this message.
All winners are invited to read their essays at Laughlin Chapel’s Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration in Wheeling on Monday, January 18 at 10:00. Furthermore, they are invited to the YWCA Stand Against Racism Celebration in Charleston sponsored by the West Virginia Martin Luther King, Jr. State Holiday Commission on Friday, April 22. Details regarding these two events will be mailed to each individual winner.
Thank you for your support of the Project on Racism Essay Contest. We look forward to working with you again in the future!
Regards,
Rita Gupta
