Summer Institute for National Initiative – State Giant Traveling Maps

 

Reminder: Please invite 3rd and 4th grade teachers from your state. This institute and the Giant State Traveling Maps are tailored for these grades, so it is critical to invite grade-appropriate educators.

 

As discussed at the Annual Meeting, we are excited to host educators at the 2016 Summer Institute that will focus on State Giant Traveling Maps! Each state will receive one state map and materials as a gift from National Geographic, to arrive in the state no later than September 1, 2016.

 

Please select up to two teachers who currently teach 3rd or 4th grade to attend the summer institute in July. Here is a draft email you can fill in the blanks to customize and send to the educators that you nominate. The invitation includes a sign-up form and instructions for the participants. Please complete your selection process by April 15.

 

A follow-up request regarding mailing logistics for the map and materials will be sent to ACs in April. If you have questions, please reach out to Nina Page at npage@ngs.org.
